Underground Services Australia ventured into South Australia for the first time, with the commencement of its pivotal involvement in a wind farm project. Located in North Brown Hill, approximately three hours north of Adelaide, the mid-north region is rapidly gaining a reputation as a leading supplier of renewable energy, which has been further strengthened with this latest project’s commencement.
Underground Services will be responsible for installing the underground cabling which will connect each wind turbine and make them operational. The company’s involvement in the wind farm project will take three months to complete and will involve sixty five kilometres of high voltage power and fibre optic cabling in total.
The wind farm will provide numerous benefits to the environment as well as the local community. Clean energy and reduced greenhouse emissions are just two of the environmental benefits, with an increase in demand for local services and employment during the construction phase delivering added benefits to the local community. It is a very exciting project for Underground Services and should form the first of many projects outside of Western Australia.
