Power Project  East Victoria Park

Underground Services Australia Pty Ltd, also known as USA to Clients & Contractors in Australia have been extensively involved with State Underground Power Projects (SUPP) that have been managed by Western Power since their inception in Western Australia in 1996.

USA has a proud record of successfully completing SUPP projects since they completed the first pilot project in Applecross, in 1997. From Applecross USA have completed projects in the following suburbs, Cottesloe, Wembley, Peppermint Grove, Dalkeith, Como and South Perth. USA are currently working in the suburb of East Victoria Park which is scheduled for completion in July 2003.

The SUPP projects utilise trenchless techniques such as directional drilling and vacuum excavation. This process ensures that minimal disruption is caused to the existing surfaces and the residents.

Project manager Andy Bull advised that the project involved 44,000 meters of directional drilling, 71,000 meters of cable installation, 67,000 meters of communications conduit, 1167 mini pillars (small green domes), 1177 communications pits, 831 cable joints, 24 transformers and 20 switchgear sets.

Andy Bull said that Western Power requires the work to be completed with minimal disruptions to the residents. We have a dedicated project management team to ensure that Western Power receive a high quality product.
