Underground Services Australia completed the major task of installing domestic gas reticulation throughout Kalgoorlie Boulder for the selected natural gas supplier, Alinta Gas. This project included laying of 161 km's of 40mm, 110mm and 160mm gas mains and associated infrastructure to service homes throughout the Goldfields. Commencing in 1998, and it was completed late 2000. The Company established a depot in Kalgoorlie and had crews working 6 days a week on the project, involving a mixture of open trenching and trenchless techniques.
The project required 4 crews working continuously in Kalgoorlie. Underground Services was one of the very few companies that had the resources to meet Alinta's aggressive time frame targets.
